The National Weather Service says a storm is likely to form in the area of the towns of Bemidji, North Dakota and Fort Lee, New Jersey in the next couple of days.
The NWS says a high pressure system is moving eastward from North Dakota, bringing cold air, precipitation and high winds to the area.
A high pressure ridge is expected to move over the region in the coming days, the NWS said in a news release.
The storm will bring severe winds, hail, freezing rain and damaging wind gusts.
The NWS also issued a storm warning for the entire state.
