KYIV (AP) Travel restrictions in the United States are being lifted for most of the country after Kentucky banned travel to the Saudi Arabian kingdom.
The ban includes travel to Jordan, Lebanon, Israel, Iraq, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman and the United Kingdom.
In the U.K., British citizens and residents who already have a visa for Saudi Arabia or Jordan can continue to do so for 90 days.
A second U.N. Security Council resolution was passed Monday allowing people from six Arab countries to enter the U to enter Saudi Arabia.
The U.T.S., a nonprofit that advocates for U.C. Berkeley students, said the U-T was not notified of the ban.
It said it was “pleased to see that we’re not in the position of having to put up with this kind of travel restriction.”
The U.W. Chamber of Commerce and other groups said the travel ban was a “serious attack on the rule of law and the freedoms of our citizens in the Middle East and North Africa.” ___
